These terms describe how CEO is licensed and sold. By downloading, activating, or using the app you agree to them.

The license

CEO is licensed, not sold. A subscription grants you a personal license to use the app on 1 device at a time for as long as the subscription is active. You may move the license between machines using “Deactivate this device” in Settings.

Free trial

A 7-day free trial begins on first launch, with no account or payment required. When the trial ends the app locks; your local data is preserved and becomes accessible again once a license is activated.

License keys & verification

• Your license key is delivered by email through Polar after purchase.
• The key is re-verified online every 6 hours, with a 7-day offline grace period.
• Activate it in the app under Settings → License, or on the lock screen.

Billing, cancellation & refunds

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Polar, acting as the merchant of record. VAT is calculated, added, and remitted at checkout. You can cancel at any time through Polar's customer portal; your license remains active until the end of the paid period.

Refunds: All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, but you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals.

Acceptable use

CEO can run shell commands on your Mac when you explicitly enable the shell tool for an employee. That capability is off by default and runs within the employee's own workspace directory. You are responsible for what you enable and for the actions your configured agents take, including any costs incurred with third-party model providers.

Third-party providers

Your use of model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, OpenRouter, Ollama, and others) is governed by their own terms. CEO is not affiliated with or endorsed by those providers, and their names are used only to describe compatibility.

Disclaimer & liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that results produced by AI employees will be accurate or fit for any particular use.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or third-party provider costs, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts competent for the seller's registered seat. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence.
